Local business
Sirsi (ಶಿರಸಿ), also written Shirasi, sits about 611 m up in the central Western Ghats. It is the headquarters of its taluk, of a subdivision that also covers Siddapur, Yellapur and Mundgod, and of an educational district created in 2009. Sirsi is described as the major commercial centre of Uttara Kannada. Its old name, Sirise, came from the siris trees that once grew thick here, and its city municipal council goes back to 1866.
Areca nut, which people here call adike, is the cash crop that much of this commerce turns on. In March 2019 'Sirsi Supari', the coin-shaped nut grown in Sirsi, Siddapur and Yellapur taluks, received a GI tag, with the Totgars' Co-operative Sale Society as its registered owner. That society, founded in 1923, also sells seeds, fertiliser and groceries. Pepper matters too: the Spices Board quotes black pepper prices from Sirsi and Kochi as India's two primary reference markets.
Faith sets the town's biggest dates. The Marikamba temple, built in 1688 and known for its red-and-white Kaavi murals, holds its jatre once every two years; the 2026 fair ran for nine days, from 24 February to 4 March. Bedara Vesha, the hunter dance, is performed on the five nights before Holi in alternate years. Yakshagana is staged regularly in and around Sirsi, traditionally right through the night, and Dollu Kunitha joins the bigger festivals.
Sirsi sits at the centre of a ring of well-known sites. Sahasralinga, about 14 km away on the Shalmala river, has around a thousand lingas carved on its rocks and draws thousands on Maha Shivaratri. Banavasi, 24 km away, was the capital of the Kadamba kings and keeps its Madhukeshwara temple. Sonda has its mathas, Manjuguni its Venkataramana temple, and the 116 m Unchalli Falls is about 30 km out. From June to October the ghat roads turn green and scenic, but slippery.
Everything arrives by road. The nearest railheads are Talaguppa (54 km), Kumta (62 km) and Haveri (76 km), and Hubballi airport is about two and a half hours away. Three ghat roads climb from the coast: two from Kumta, through Devimane and through Siddapur, and one from Ankola past Yana. Sirsi is also one of the district's main bus hubs, and it is seen as the business and cultural capital of the district's hill taluks.

Yakshagana troupes and show organisers
Yakshagana is staged regularly around Sirsi, and professional troupes in Karnataka still put on ticketed shows. A site with the season's dates, venues, the prasanga for each night and a contact for village bookings lets audiences and organisers find you without waiting for a poster to reach them.
Day-trip taxis and local tour operators
Visitors who stay in Sirsi want a day that covers Sahasralinga, Banavasi, Unchalli or Yana. A site listing your routes, the time each one takes, your vehicle sizes and notes on monsoon roads answers their planning questions before they call, and reassures a family that has never driven the ghats.

Local search
Sirsi customers search in Kannada and English, from the town itself and from villages an hour away. A few habits make your listing easy to find.
There are other places called Sirsi in Uttar Pradesh, and the name also belongs to a software company. Write 'Sirsi (ಶಿರಸಿ), Uttara Kannada' in your page titles and listing, so searches land on the right town.
Locals say adike for areca nut, jatre for the temple fair and aata for Yakshagana. Use these Kannada words in your posts and page text next to the English, because many people search with the words they speak.
Give your position along a road everyone knows, such as the Banavasi road (SH 77) or the Sirsi–Kumta road, or by the Marikamba temple. Put the same landmark on your Google listing and your contact page.
The Marikamba jatre comes every two years, Bedara Vesha before Holi in alternate years, Maha Shivaratri crowds reach Sahasralinga, and waterfall trips pick up in the June to October rains. Update your hours and photos two weeks before each of these.
In Google Business Profile, pick the closest main category, such as 'Tour operator', 'Taxi service', 'School', 'Coaching center', 'Wedding photographer', 'Clothing store' or 'Jewelry store'. One precise category does more than a long list of loose ones.
Customers often travel in from Siddapur, Yellapur, Mundgod and Banavasi. If you deliver or travel to them, set those places as your service area on Google and name them on your site.

Before any screen, we go through one real day with you: a lot arriving, grading, the sale, the party ledger and the settlement. Usually this is a video call with your accountant on it, plus a visit to Sirsi when the flow needs to be seen.
The plan uses your existing slips and statements as the model, so the printout looks like the one your parties already trust.
Purchase and lots come first, then grading and stock, then ledgers and settlement. Each piece runs beside your paper or spreadsheet until the totals agree.
We go live outside the busiest weeks after harvest, with opening balances checked party by party.
GST rules, new grades and new reports keep arriving. Changes go through one WhatsApp number to the people who built the system.

For a troupe, the site would usually open with Home, About, Shows, Gallery and Contact, and pages are unlimited, so each season's shows can have a page of their own. The one-time setup fee starts from ₹12,000. The gallery holds your show photos, and basic content writing is included. Every page works on a phone and runs on https, with your WhatsApp, Google Maps pin and a contact form linked in, plus a basic SEO check before launch.
Online payments and booking are extra features, quoted separately. The starting package takes enquiries through WhatsApp and a contact form, which is often enough to begin with. What you pay in the end depends only on the features you pick.
A second language is priced separately, so tell us which pages need both Kannada and English. Once your text and photos reach us, the site goes live in about 7 days, followed by 365 days of support, one full year from launch day. The domain and hosting renew every year at your own cost and stay in your name; we help you buy them.
Because it assumes a shop: fixed items that sell as they came in. Areca and spices arrive in lots, change weight and grade after drying and sorting, and are settled with parties weeks later. Ready-made tools push those steps back onto paper, which is why we build around them instead.

Yes, inside the billing itself. When a B2B invoice is saved it is registered, and the IRN and signed QR code print on the document. If the portal is down, the invoice waits in a queue rather than printing something that only looks valid. We built e-invoicing through ClearTax for Facet, our own ERP product.
Partly. Udupi is where our one studio is, so most Sirsi work happens on screen shares, video calls and WhatsApp, and we speak both Kannada and English. For trading software we would still rather see the floor once, so we plan a visit to watch lots come in and a settlement go out.
Yes. Your own store keeps the customer and the repeat order, while a marketplace brings reach but keeps the buyer's details. Many brands run both. We build the store with the grade and harvest on every product, payment by UPI and courier labels printed from the order, and tell the origin story plainly, because city buyers care where their pepper and cardamom come from.
Yes. Counter and godown screens can carry Kannada and English labels, party names can be stored in Kannada, and statements can print in either. We test that Kannada text prints cleanly on your own printer, because that is where it usually goes wrong.
